- A genius if ever there was one
The death of one of Australia’s forgotten modernists has been reported in the Sydney Morning Herald and the Canberra Times. Alex Jelinek, whose only fully realised architectural work is the Round House, at 10 Gawler Crescent, Deakin, died on 12 February 2007 aged 81.

Occasionally people ask me whether I conduct guided tours. I don’t, but I’ve often thought a series of themed, self-guided walking and driving tours could be a useful addition to the content on this website and provide interested Canberrans and tourists with a way of learning about some of Canberra’s important mid-twentieth century modernist houses.
